Welcome to Sonoma Kinship Center

Relative caregivers (also known as kinship caregivers) come in many forms; grandparents, aunts and uncles, adult siblings. You may be a legal guardian, foster parent, or adoptive parent to a relative's child. If you are a kinship caregiver, you should know there are services available right here in Sonoma County. The Sonoma Kinship Family Center is ready to assist you in accessing those services.

There are approximately 2400 grandparents, and another 500-1000 relative caregivers providing homes, food, clothing and loving care for more than 4500 children in Sonoma County. Many caregivers have been thrust into this position of great responsibility almost overnight. Their responsibility will last for years, and virtually none have received the training, resources, and support that will enable them to create successful outcomes for their new, blended families. Without kinship services, many caregivers will continue to struggle.

We are ready to assist you with the very important responsibility of caring for your relative's children. We are open to your suggestions and ideas to grow and improve these programs and services to meet your needs.
